Friday Favourites: Fantasy Series

Hello and welcome to another ‘Friday Favourites’ where I tell you all of my favourite things in one little topic. This week I shall be sharing with you my favourite fantasy series – which is going to be proven difficult as fantasy is my jam, so narrowing it down to a select few may take some time. Yes, some of those featured will be well-known and cliché, but that’s why they’re so popular, because they are fantastic!

A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E Schwab
What a surprise! Not really as this book features in 8/10 of my posts recently. I just adore this series so much – the writing is great, I adore the characters, it’s set in a Victorian-esque London (3 of them to be precise) and it takes you on so many amazing journeys and it’s just fantastic. If you want a fantasy series that is about magic, outcasts and badass characters, then my amigos, this is the series for you! If not, then still read it anyway because its fab.

Harry Potter by JK Rowling
Everybody and their Grandma knows about this series and you can probably understand why I love it so much, so there isn’t really much to say other than it’s amazing. I’ve loved Harry Potter for many, many years and I will continue to do so forever and always.

The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon
Not sure if this is classed as fantasy but I’m going to throw it in here anyway. I discovered this book at the beginning of 2017 and instantly fell in love with everything about it! It centers around clairvoyants – something which I hadn’t seen in a book before so was very intrigued. It has strong woman protagonists, love, rivalry, the best villains and great writing! I’m currently still anxiously waiting for the 4th book to release and I honestly can not wait!

There are so many more fantasy books/series that I adore, but these 3 really take the cake for me. There are also books which I’ve read but haven’t finished the series of, so I feel like a fraud if I featured them in this post.
I’m always on the look out for more new and exciting fantasy series to start, so if you can recommend me any that would be fantastic!

I hope you have a marvelous day,
